This beautiful 14 ft. x 14 ft. square custom rug is located in the prominent neighborhood of Lock Lloyd and was featured in a Kansas City Magazine. The plush pewter/silver center consists of a Masland broadloom carpet and the exterior border is a subtle grey and white greek key design also made from broadloom carpet cut into strips. The two carpets are seamed together to create this simple yet elegant rug.
Working around 2 existing 8 ft. round wool rugs on each corner of this uniquely shaped family room, we created a custom 14’ x 25’ area rug to coordinate while not compromising the colors the client loves. By matching our wool color palms to the shades in her rugs we had this large rug custom made which took 6 months to be hand-tufted into this beautiful room-sized rug.
This client wanted more coverage than her hand-knotted Oushak 6’ x 9’ wool rug could offer. But the hand-knotted rug had sentimental value to her so she still wanted to use it in her most lived in space. In this case, we decided to do the “layered rug look” and create a custom Stanton wool sisal area rug under it.
